Resource: Schumacher Center for a New Economics

The Schumacher Center for a New Economics promotes the new economy, which includes the concepts of buy local, local currency and self-sufficiency. The society aims to combine theoretical research with practical application at the local, regional, national, and international levels.

The Center aims to educate the public about an economics that supports both people and the planet. They believe that a fair and sustainable economy is possible and that citizens working for the common interest can build systems to achieve it. They recognize that the environmental and equity crises have their roots in the current economic system. The use of transformative systems and clear communications are part of their principles.

An introduction to the Schumacher Center for a New Economics.
We use the term Community Supported Industry to describe a multi-faceted development process characterized by consumers and producers working together as co-creators of their region’s economic future.
